Which will you go for? The Preferrable or the Best?

It's more like a day-to-day activity we engage in consciously or unconsciously. Amidst our busy schedule at work, at meetings, en route, at conferences, at summits, at shows, at home, at weddings and burials and all kinds of ceremonies at large, we constantly refresh and quench our thirst. What do we use to achieve that?
Research has shown that a greater percentage of people go for juices in packs rather than for fresh natural fruits. Some interviews we conducted prior to this post also confirms that. Do you fall into that category?
In all, we have to be conscious of whatever we take into our body. This goes a long way to determine our life span as well as the level of strength and ability we have to complete our daily tasks. It also reflects on the nature of our skin. Mhmmmm, a food for thought!

You might want to consider the "costs", flavors, additives, preservatives, chemicals and perhaps how truly natural they are; not paying attention to the labels, e.g: 100% fruit juice. This is one link you would be grateful to follow and read its content. Please, do not ignore:

White versus Coloured

There's this one thing I never forget to take with me once I dress up to go out, not minding whether where I'm going is far or near, whether a corporate function or a casual outing. That is my HANDKERCHIEF (permit me to add 'white' as an adjective). For me, it is better I forget my phones than to forget my handkerchief. If I do on a weird day, I realize it immediately I leave the house, say 3 minutes after I leave. If I can go back, I'll go get one from my piles, else, I look out for a nearby shop to buy a brocade handkerchief. Yes, that's me! They serve me a lot. They shield me from dust particles, smoke, bad air. They hide my coughs and sneezes and wipe sweat off my face, keeping it dry and fresh all day long. My friends can tell you it's true.
On a second thought, why don't I go for coloured handkerchiefs? I can't really tell anyway. I am so comfortable with the whites.
Chats with friends and acquaintances have made me realize that some people dread whites perhaps because they can't deal with its maintenance as they discolour easily when they come in contact with dirt and dust. Others simply go for the coloured ones because they love colours and have the chance to choose from a variety of them: green, brown, blue, red...Some still go for whites, not because they can maintain them but because they feel whites have 'efizzi'.
I refuse to admit that some who go for the coloured do so because they always want a colour match for their outfits at any point in time. I mean, we have so many characters and who says you don't have your life to live? Yet others don't use handkerchiefs at all, maybe to them, it's weird using them or they have no use for them.
What do you think? Which do you prefer- whites, coloured or none at all? Give your reasons if possible (medical, social, funny,...). Let's share our thoughts together, friends. Common, don't be shy, we can learn a lot from this. Let's get this started and rolling!

Look What She's Done.

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN- WOMEN’S INHUMANITY TO WOMEN.
Gender equality has been a major bone of contention in the family, the community, the nation and surprisingly, even on a global scale. The men and women genders struggle to be on equal grounds in areas of politics, family headship, affluence, name, entrepreneurship, entertainment and other facets of human living. Interestingly, there are so many proofs attesting to the fact that people, regardless of social and cultural differences, are working and coming up with innovative ideas to their credit. Today, we not only have male artistes, engineers, information technologists, comedians, actors, doctors, pilots, barristers, human rights activists, entrepreneurs, politicians; we also have the females who are competing and performing creditably well in these areas. A visible battle between these two genders is not far-fetched. On the other hand, it is high time we started looking into the genders one at a time to know the hidden truths that are obtainable. To our greatest surprise, the treatments meted out amongst members of the same gender by people they call their own, are most times, more dangerous. The women folk treat themselves as sworn enemies. They do not necessarily have to talk about the grudge and animosity they bear against their fellow women. Their inhuman actions towards them say it all.
Consider this rampant scenario: Two beautiful young ladies, who work in the same office as employees, keep malice, compete unnecessarily, hardly talk to themselves, show off the content of their wardrobes in an envious way and even get to the point of spreading harmful gossips about themselves. One will be wondering whether it is a husband, a land, a priceless possession/jewel or something of great importance that the two ladies are fighting for with all their vigour and strength. Ladies fighting for the heart and love of the same man, can go extra miles of sending thugs to their supposed opponent, poisoning them, visiting a witch doctor to inflict them and even disfiguring their competitor by pouring acid on her. These are few of the wicked actions taken by women against fellow women to achieve their selfish aims. This has no limits or bounds, as it is also witnessed in the family. Mothers who are meant to be perfect role models in all ramifications, especially to their young daughters, fail in this God-given responsibility. Meanwhile, they force their daughters to marry because of wealth and other possessions, not even minding about their happiness, state of mind and challenges they are bound to face in such homes. Yet others give specific instructions to their daughters, as to what happens in their various homes. They run their daughters’ homes and subject these young girls, who are barely starting their marriage life, to their fear.
It is sad to say that some mothers predict what course their daughters study in school, not caring about their passion and strengths or putting them into consideration. They dictate wherever they go, the number of hours they can spend outside, who to keep and not to keep as friends and what they generally do with their lives and surprisingly, when you look at the “robot” girls, you realize that they are mature enough to make decisions for themselves and bear whatever subsequent consequences as adults. What is it exactly among women? What do they have against themselves? What are they fighting for in particular? Polygamous families have a taste of this experience as well. When a man brings two or more women in the same house, either as wives or concubines, the result can be predicted in most cases. They fight for the man’s attention, love, care, wealth, approval and the list goes on. In their quest to achieve this, they can go extra unexpected mischievous/deadly lengths. They protect their own children while planning against their co-wife’s children. They can even use traditional means to prevent their colleagues’ children from getting married, and even if they mistakenly do, they wouldn’t escape not bearing children. Jokingly, the fight gets hotter and deadlier. They might even swear to be enemies for life.
Even amidst all the accumulated wealth, name, possessions and respect, royal mothers and queens give their maidens/slave girls ill treatments and even kill any who poses a threat. They are not happy with any slave girl whose beauty surpasses that of the princess and who might attract the princess’ suitor and so, try everything to keep her out of the way permanently even if it involves bloodshed. Princesses also exert their little power by giving orders to have their fellow girls punished and beaten up without any justifiable reason. I call it cowardice, wickedness and misuse of power. Most married women today have house helps who take care of their houses. How do they treat them? You might want to give a little attention to that, if you have not already. Most times, they are treated as if they are not human beings. They provide everything for and pet their own children while they beat, scold, barely feed and clothe these girls who serve them tirelessly for the better part of their lives. They are easily recognized outside as maids because of the haphazard way they look. God sees everything, even our hidden actions and also searches the heart. The conscience is a wonderful priceless gift God has given each and everyone of us. It is left for us to keep it alive and allow it guard our actions. We need to think twice before taking actions, taking and seeing others as ourselves. Let’s always remember the golden rule and put it in action. No one knows tomorrow. Being inhuman and wicked do not pay!

THIS ONE IS LIFE-SAVING.

I had something in mind. It was not very clear to me yet. It went on for a few days. It was like a burden in my heart until I let it out. My mind always reminded me constantly that I had to think out something very important I wanted to share with my lovely readers. You might not really grasp this “whole drama”- as you may term it. But, I tell you, it often happens to writers. At last, this is what I came up with: A wonderful (the judgement should be yours) hearty piece.

Human beings we are. Actions we take everyday. Unfortunately, we seldom realize that those actions, as small as some might be, can make or mar us. Now, take a closer look at the following well thought-out points and sincerely tell me what you think:

1.     Make sure to look left, right and left again before you cross a road.

2.     Do not inhale the fume produced by a generator set.

3.     It is not advisable to always have listening aid (ear piece) in your ears.

4.     Do not drink alcoholic beverages before driving.

5.     Be mindful of your speedy flights up and down the staircase.

6.     While driving, assume your family is in the other vehicle and drive responsibly.

7.     Avoid self-medication.

8.     Never answer even a 5-seconds call while driving.

9.     Keep your eyes at a distance while putting out fire in your cooking and lighting equipment.

10.  Make sure your fingers are out before jamming the doors of the car and house.

11.   Be sure not to spray fragrances and perfumes near naked light or into your eyes.

12.   Keep away your stored fuel from any source of fire.

13.  For the ladies, make sure your handbag is zipped and held tight to avoid being stranded.

14.  Wind up the glasses of your car when it is stationary.

15.   Do not eat sugary items immediately before going to bed.

16.   Do not lie down immediately after taking your medicine.

17.   Avoid throwing stones.

18.   Make sure your keys are handy before you lock your door. You may lock yourself out.

19.    Do not forget that your food is on fire and allow it to burn and almost burn down the house.

20.   While pouring hot water from a kettle or flask, do that gently so it does not splash.

21.    Make sure you are with your purse as you leave the house to avoid embarrassment.

22.    As you are driving in or out of the house, make sure your children are not around the car, perhaps hiding and following at the rear of the car.

23.   Be mindful of your water boilers. They can be dangerous.

24.   Do not place your hot or plugged pressing iron on your clothe for too long. Your clothe might wear a bad look.

25.   Make sure to mop splashed water on the floor. You might be the one to strip and fall.

26.    Make sure there is a seat behind you before you sit. Do not assume. If possible, hold it while sitting.

27.   Keep away sharp objects like: scissors, blades, nails, pins, even medicine from children.

28.   Make sure to lay your baby well to avoid a fall.

29.   If you cannot swim, please do not swim for mere fun or show-off, unless an experienced person is there to teach and guide you.

30.  Do not fix very long artificial nails to avoid injury (for the ladies).

31.    Avoid fighting.

32.    Always have your car papers complete and accurate before hitting the road.

33.    Be sure to have your invite handy before going for a function to avoid being bounced.

34.    Be mindful of your friends. They might be the ones stabbing you at the back.

35.    Do not be a voracious spender.

36.    Teach your kids not to collect things from strangers.

37.     Let there be a clear demarcation between your personal/family life and your work/career.

38.    Do not touch any electrical appliance (whether plugged or not) with wet hands.

39.    Make sure to close the car door firmly before the car takes off.

40.    Be sure your car is in good condition before you start driving (e.g.: water in the radiator, functioning screen wiper, side mirrors, spare tyre in the trunk with necessary jacking equipment, rear mirror, seat belt, headlights, transfigator lights…).

41.   Always be good and stay healthy.

42.   Be Original!  Be You!  Be Responsible!

43.   Pray fervently.
